Default deciding to buy a book or not

http://www.amazon.com/1993-2002-Fire..._bxgy_b_text_b
how much lt1 info is in this book?
as the title says it is 93-02, but from the description it seems as if it is more geared towards ls1.
any experience with this book guys?

Joseph Potak, the author, is a member of this forum. That might be worth mentioning - the book has TONS of information and is a great resource. Easily worth $17.

I had my wife out looking for a large wall mounted magazine rack for our bathroom all Christmas. She could not find one that would hold all the magazines that I get each month. They are sitting on the back of the toilet for now lol. I have to build a rack now. Every now and then I can tell even she picks up the car and drive when there are new models coming out. I have noticed the Car and driver with the M5 on the cover keeps ending up on top of the stack.

Books are extremely helpful. Its nice to have all the answers right there in the shop rather than having to search the internet which you may or may not have access to at the time. Usually easier to read and understand THEY EVEN HAVE PICTURES!!!!

Chances are if its in a book that has good reviews on it you can trust it a little more than what some people say on the internet. Although there are a ton of smart people here is also a ton of missinformation.

My bathroom looks like an office, nice laptop holder and speakers set up. Collection of summit and jegs catalogs and print-outs of diagrams.... I recommend ANY book by David Vizard, he is a genius.

I could stay in there forever.

The LT1 rebuilding book by Mavrigian is a great reference, but seems geared predominantly towards rebuilding an LT1 to stock specifications, which, let's face it, very few of us are doing. For instance, you're not going to find a lot of information about bearing clearances and ring gaps for high-powered forced induction applications. But you will find how to measure all the stock clearances for stock I-beam piston rods and stock valvesprings, which many of us don't reuse. Still a great reference book to have around, just not intended for the performance-oriented rebuild.

I liked How to Rebuild the Small-Block Chevrolet by Atherton and Schreib. It's not LT1-specific, but they had more performance-oriented tips/guidelines. I mostly used this book when I assembled my shortblock.

I use the GM service manuals to troubleshoot electrical issues. They really are the best references.
