Default need lt1 help

i bought a 95z28 roller without harness or pcm. then i bought a 97lt1 with 22k miles. i had a guy change everything. i got the car brought home last week.i have not drove it over .4 miles. problem is it surges, cuts off and doesnt have any power. i checked wires, plugs and no signs of vac leaks. i was told the mass air flow seneor could be bad. changing it today. any other advice? maybe fuel pump pressure? thanks for any help

It could be any number of things since it's a fresh transplant. I'd check your optispark, maf, and fuel pressure.

Sounds lean maybe. Is it bad when cold, or only when warmed up? If the latter, that is a big clue, and makes things much easier, as it means the problem is only in closed loop, when the O2 sensors are used to set fueling. In that case, check 02 sensors first.

If the former, first make sure there are no vacuum leaks. Then I'd look at fuel pressure, then ignition timing. Make sure the injector and plug wires are where they should be, things like that.

I don't like the fact that he pulled your check engine light. But you can still have codes read.
