Default quick '93 chip question

Im literally one click from submitting my order from Solomon for one of his 'power tune' chips for my '93 and I see in the fine print I may need a Moates memcal piggyback adapter? Is it necessary and can I swap chips without it?

TIA

I don't think you can without it since the custom chip runs "piggyback " onto the factory chip.

You need an adapter.

Your stock PCM has a full EPROM chip that will pop out. The only way to load a new tune from a place like that is to have the adapter that allows you to add various EPROMS.

The adapter physically attaches to the board, then you put the smaller chips on that and fasten them on.

mcalus, which tuner did you get it from? Most, besides Solomon, send the chip already in the adapter

Fireman, PM sent
