Default wierd idle????

Hey everyone,u guys have been great help an i have a few questions. so on cold start my idle is around 800 and once it warms up my idle gets high like 1100-1300 and my check engine light is on but i dont have cables to hook up to computer yet to read codes so untill i get them im trying to pin point the problem. What is causing this??? I did an egr and air delete and i forgot to plug the 5/8 hole that runs off the air pump to my air intake. Could this cause it ,also i have the vented cap for the 96 and up lt1 but did not run a vacuum yet. Could this be the problem also? It also wants to fall on its face when i go to pull out. plss help!!!!!

i believe if you dont have the vacuum line hose connected. that can cause misfires and rpm issues. You can also cause the optispark internals to get damaged cause misreadings on the optispark module from the internal metal disk. i forgot the actual name.
Hook up the vacuum line and see what happends, if no changes noted, still keep it plugged in.

The vacuum line has absolutely nothing to do with how the optispark functions. It's only purpose is to remove ozone and moisture from the unit (93-94 units don't even have vacuum). The vac line is not the problem, nor is the 5/8" plug (it is before the MAF).

It is pointless to speculate until you can get the codes pulled. Could be dozens of things really.

Ok I will plug up the hole an run the vacuum to the otpi cap. An I bought the better cap and put it on my 94 Opti just for the vacuum reason. I guess I'll just wait to get these cables to pull codes. I just figured someone had the same issue with opposite idle.
