Another trans thread
Hello Everyone!
I know this thread is talking about the same old stuff but I need your opinions. I have two questions.
1st – I am building a 383 LT1 for my 95 Z28. It should have an estimated 500 + or - horse. Would a built 4L60E be fine for a street driven vehicle? I will take it to the track once in a blue moon but most of my driving will be on the street.
2nd – What would be the best shop to have one built? I hear a lot about RPM transmissions and Jakes Performance. I’ve talked to both of them through email and have had nothing but great help from both. What are your thoughts?

Ive seen good things from Performabuilt. RPM is good too. Yes, a 4L60E is fine on the street, as long as you have an appropriate stall for your cam set up.
I know a ton of people go for more expensive stall converters, but IMHO you can't beat the price and quality of PTC. I love my 3200 Stall from them. Great people to work with.
