1993 Z28 Project!!
I just picked up a 93 z28 for $500.00... All sign show is has blown head gaskets. I am hoping the heads are still ok. Here are some pics as the car sits right now. Any good ideas to make a drag car??
It looks like the radiator is rigged in with wire lol.... Is this a stock setup??? maybe missing brackets???
Water in the oil!!!!

I wanna stay around 2000 in parts less if i can get away with it. I went to spoke with a motor guy in town.. He said i am limited on mods since its all computerized. I would need to find some one to mod it.... Anyone build up a lt1 from a 93?

I have a 93. I love it! But I learned last night that if you need to remove something be extra carefull. And this morning I learned that the darn TV cable for the trans is discontinued and there isn't one dealer in the country that has one. So moral of the story, know what parts you can still get and which ones you can't! Aside from that I love it. Deleted AIR and EGR with out a tune and have gone 13.15 with only suspension work.

nice car.. 93 to 97 is no limit difference.. Any one who tunes lt1 more then likely will tune a chip for your 93. Or you could always buy a chip burner and have then tune on it. I have the moates ostrich that lets me tune on the fly( haven't but will) and then a moates chip burner when i finally have the tune ready. There are still a hand full of good names that tune 93s
i say fix the fix head gasket, add better valve springs, mill the heads for higher compression and THATS IT... drive it around, take it to the track and fix what breaks. No sense of going crazy since your just getting familiar with the car.

The hood looks like it had a bra on before.

Id say get new head gaskets, tune up, new plugs, wires, opti, water pump, check for oil leaks, injectors, and check for any rusted suspension or chassis parts. That should be in the area of $2000. Also give it a wash. By the time she is done she should look like she rolled off the assembly line.

Got the head gaskets fixed and she runs. I had the heads pressured test There was 2 valves on one head not seating right and 1 on the other. Shop fixed them and also resurfaced both heads. I thought for sure the heads where toast. Put new coolant in but its brown now. Whats the best way to flush the block?
