Default LT 1 fuel/overheat issue

Big problems on my cross country journey, first day and ran into this Diddy. Driving down the highway and vehicle sputters like its out of gas, pull over and it eventually dies out. No fuel pressure. I fittled around with the pump, relays, ECT, and bout 15 minutes later it worked and had pressure fine. Drove it another 30 miles, same thing happens, I traced wires this time and noticed its not getting an ecm signal, then when it cools a little, it magically works again, another 30 miles, same thing. The temp gauge stays steady the entire time, even when its dying out. Coolant level is good, both fans fine. Please help, I'm stuck here.

It looks as if the coolant is circulating in the radiator, I'm really stumped, why would the computer kill power to the fuel pump circuit?

The only time I heard of a situation like what you describe with pressure dying and then coming back it was a problem with the charcoal canister purge valve not letting fresh air into the tank to replace the fuel burned. Try cracking the gas cap loose and see if there is vacuum???

I understand this does not play into your electrical diagnosis.

It sounds like the pump is overheating. Has it ever been changed? If so, did you use the fuel bucket or just strap the pump onto the assembly? How much fuel in the tank when this started happening?
