Help Please with C.A.R.S
Hi I just got a Jet dst Tuner for my 1996 Camaro and all is going well beside I cant figure out what the software means when it say C.A.R.S in the trans constants. A example will be it ask Min. coolant temp. to enable C.A.R.S. any help will be appreciated

C.A.R.S = Computer Aided Ratio Selection, aka C.A.G.S (Computer Aided Gear Selection).
This is the "skip shift" feature which forces you to shift directly from 1st gear into 4th gear on the manual 6-speed transmissions under certain conditions (by locking you out of 2nd and 3rd gears). This usually occurs at the most inopportune times, such as when trying to make a quick left-turn through a busy intersection. Most of us find this "feature" highly annoying, and disable it by moving that "min coolant temp enable" slider up into the inoperable range.
I always heard that GM created this "feature" to avoid the gas guzzler tax, but it really could get someone killed if the car stalls out at the wrong time.
