Default Cracked fuel line

Recently I noticed that the plastic fuel line is cracked thats located in the engine compartment. Whats the proper way to fix this problem? first thought is to just slip some rubber fuel line over and hose clamp it down.

I would not patch a fuel line with rubber hose you cut to make fit.

If you go to auto parts store ask them for a plastic Fuel line repair kit, they have strait and 90 degree ends in 2 sizes feed and return.

What you do is hot a pot of hot water put the repair lie into the water, this will make it soft. Take the metel barb that was in the kit and push it all the way into the line.

Now cut the cracked piece off and do the same for that end and bam all done. kit cost 28 bucks your cost.

All of the others suggestions are great, but what i suggested will get you by until you do replace or upgrade your lines. The fix i suggested i have done for many year on many vehicles with no issues that i know of ever. just saying

The fuel lines are relatively cheap from GM (as cheap as the repair kit previously mentioned). The service manual does not recommend repair of the lines-only replacement (though some people do the repair).

Your promoting him wether you tell him to pm him on this site or ltxtech. I believe your also trying to promote another forum as well.

While not against the rules it is frowned upon. If you go over to ltxtech and post a link to ls1tech your going to have people jump allover you.

Regardless promoting a business that participates on the site or not is still promoting it and is frowned upon as well.

OP just go to gm and get the lines like SHBOX said it is your best bet.

How about you all private message about what you can and can not do while we try and help this person out?

Shoebox you are correct by saying the line is not recommended to be patched. But some can not wait for a fuel line to be ordered, or order an aftermarket one and get in a week. Some need to be able to drive right now and that where this comes into p l ay. Plus I have never seen one fail when done correctly. We service the same vehicles for years without issues.

I'd replace the lines. Now is the perfect time to replace them with the braided fuel line relocation kit .

The plastic is probably fairly brittle at this point . I know my lines were extremely brittle.

It was a no brained for me to just replace it. Food for thought
