Default Single plane elbow options with LT1 58mm TB

I am looking at going single plane, but want to keep the LT1 TB, what elbow options are out there besides the $400 Nitrous Express elbow?

Sell the LT1 TB, buy a cheapo LS1 TB, then buy a ultra low profile edelbrock elbow.

Cheap and easy.

I assume you are talking about the "Nitrous Outlet" elbow...the nice thing about that unit is it allows you to reuse all of your existing CAI/TB/Sensors/throttle cable etc. And it clears the factory cowl.

Wilson Manifolds makes a very nice CNC billet adaptor to bolt your LT1 TB on an Edelbrock elbow, Wilson elbow, etc.
Good friend of mine band sawed the flange off the front of an old stock intake, and TIG welded it to the front of an Edelbrock elbow. My hood would not shut on the Wilson elbow.

This has interested me for a while, are there really that good of gains to be made going to a single plane on lets say, a naturally aspirated 396 build?

My 350" SS engine has a Hogan sheet metal intake. I've seen some pretty fast LT1 SS cars with single plane intakes, so I tried one. By the time I got threaded inserts in my heads, spot faced & corrected the 2nd from the end bolt holes in the manifold, then sent it off for porting, welding, etc, I spent enough to have another Hogan build. Then it made less power on the engine dyno & ran slower on the track. Got lucky and sold that thing for 50 cents on the dollar I had in it.
If I were you, and you actually want to make power, I would call Hogan Manifolds.

That's just what I wanted to hear. Thanks!

While I would LOVE to have a Hogan manifold, $2800 for the manifold vs ~1000 for single plane with Nitrous Express elbow. If they were about half that I would consider. RHS also apparently makes a single plane that has bolt pattern and bolt angles that may work with LT1 heads from what I understand? If so, then it's just manifold, fuel rails, porting and elbow, correct?

So I'm really looking at ported LT4 vs single plane for the Comp ported AFR 210's?

Which is before, which is after? I assume the red line is the single plane? If so, then less power under the curve, but more peak?

The air/fuel is skewed enough to easily make that much difference.
After the welding, and port work, Wilson's high dollar CNC LTX TB adapter, freight, etc, I had about the same money as in the Hogan. Only place the single plane was up compared to my Hogan was 5 ft lbs below 5200 RPM.

If your still on the factory PCM, is it even worth getting rid of a ported LT1 intake? Since you can't spin past 6900rpm?

Not sure how longer runners would raise your RPM band?
They won't.
