Default Lt1 wiring options

I am swapping a lt1 into my 80 El Camino, A question for the people who have done swap before Should I use the under hood fuse block or an after market one and why.

We have a DIY kit that is made to run the engine, or one that will run the engine and the fans. These will be much more compact than a factory fuseblock.

However, the factory one will work for you. Just will be more bulky and have more unused items in it.

If you decided to get a new harness, our harness will include a grommet and a fuse block with the options you need.

But you can still use what you have! Our small DIY kit is only $75.

I put one in a 92 chevrolet truck a cuople of years ago. I used the LT1 fuse box and cut the bracket off the donor car, welded it somewhere in the engine compartment. It all worked but when I got finished it had a lot of extra wiring and as said above about 3 times more fuse/realy box then I needed.

I put an LT1 in my 98 blazer and utilized the factory blazer underhood fuse relay box. if I were doing something like your older el camino, I'd get one of bills kits listed above. It would come out way cleaner than using the factory box.
