Could not disagree with you more. Been to many events with worse heat than BG and track still works. Its all about prep!! THe track gets slick at BG because they have no idea how to prep in the heat.

Prep is everything.
Before OSW changed owners they never prepped for tnt and my lowly little H/C NA LT1 couldn't hook and ran 12.1-12.2 with only 1.8x 60's. I was pulling the same 60's with bolt-ons running 12.8s.
No change to the car, took it to Bradenton a few weeks later and was running 11.7-11.9 all day with high 1.5x 60's.
If that was with a slow low powered NA car I can imagine the difference a 4digit hp monster would have.

I always found the BG track prep to be just fine. Last time I was there, the week before the U.S. Nationals at Indy, my 60's were in the high 1.20s. Had to put the weight back in the front to help keep it down. That was the weekend before you guys were there. Might be car issues, not the track.

You could tell at the test&tune nights when there was a large event the weekend before by the shape the track was in.Then the diesel trucks would go and tear a good track all to hell

track prep
Kyle Dawson has pledged $250 to be used towards additional track prep at Beech Bend this year. I will match his donation. If that's not enough, David Smith has pledged an additional $500. That's $1000 worth of prep above the basic prep package that will be used if necessary. We will have the cash on hand at the day of the event and will use it if need be. We don't want to see guys have to pull power or tear up an engine trying to keep the car on the track. There are a lot of cars that are capable of setting records this year and we want to see them show up!
