Default Aftermarket oil pan questions

My 383 is going together and I need to figure out my oiling system. Oil pump is a Melling 10552 HV (+10% bc wider bearing clearances). The stock windage tray will be retained and I'll be using a small baffle on the rear main cap (like Moroso #23000). I need a pan and would prefer something without any sort of tray/scraper built in because I know they can be troublesome. A trap door at the front of the sump is definitely a plus. Also, an oil level sensor isn't necessary.

Anyone have an oil pan with a 8.25" sump? Like Milodon 30909 (6qt), Moroso 20205/20206 (7qt), Moroso 20182 (6qt), etc. Is it higher/lower than the stock k-member? How is the fit around the PS rack, headers, etc? Have you ever slammed it on anything during street driving? My car is on BMR springs so I'm already at a disadvantage.

Car will be driven on the street most of the time but there will be several trips to the track each year. I also don't want to rule out things like autox and road racing.

I'm torn between a modified 5qt pan w/door and accusump combo or a gigantic Moroso 20205 (trap door built in). I don't see the point of buying a 242t or other comparable road race pan because the capacity isn't much greater than stock, oil level sensor isn't a big deal (might not even fit with LPP headers), built in trays/scrapers suck, and they're expensive.

If you do a forum search you will find posts of people who run aftermarket pans and what, if any, issues and adjustments they have made to accommodate them

FWIW a stock pan works just fine with 383 and HV (or standard) pumps. Stand the stock windage tray off 1/8" from where it is stock by using washers between it and studs and also oil pump where tray attaches. Miloden makes extended studs if you are not re-using the stock ones.

I have searched and all I can find is info on leaky/overpriced road race pans. I just need to know if the deeper pans are lower than a stock k-member because that's a dealbreaker for me.

I'm using ARP studs (w/tray). I forget the part number.
