Are GMPP crate engine weights correct?
But what i see now is the LS3's (3 variations) all weight 415lbs and the ZZ383 weights 410lbs! Turnkey ZZ5 = 410lbs. Odly the ZZ4 turkey is a fat 511lbs (cant explain that). Also the 7 liter LS7 weights 440lbs!
Is someone in the GMPP print room dyslectic?
Its frustrating as GMPP lists the "production-based" sbc at 181lbs but fails to provide any weights for LS3 alum blocks. The GEN I sbc blocks in alum weight in at 90 and 101lbs.
But u can see the LS3 crate motors are sold with exh manifolds where the GEN I sbc crates dont. That should acount for some weight gain on the LS motors.
I really think someone would have to weight the same car after swapping motors to find the true difference.
