I had flows on a old LT1 years ago, sound wasn't bad, though there's definitely better flowing systems out there for around the same price. Most people agree that GMMG is the best sounding but at the time I couldn't justify paying that much for a catback being a broke teenager. If I remember correctly Borla was pretty popular for the LT1 also.

When it comes to exhaust, I want my cake and eat it too. Aggressive at WOT but tame cruising. I have gone through quite a bit of setups over my last 4 cars...full size mufflers, chambered mufflers, made my own bi-mode mufflers, glasspacks with Helmholtz resonators etc.
Currently using a full size 3" SI/SO StainlessWorks muffler mounted under trunk with L/T's and catless y pipe. I can dive anywhere with this system, but on the track I would like it louder.

Exhaust is completely preference to anyone. I have my opinions based on what I've heard in person. I chose GMMG because I could afford it, because it is a rare system to have, and because I really liked the sound. Some may like the sound of Flowmaster better than GMMG, and that doesn't bother me at all.
I think the great thing is that there's so many different brands of exhaust out there, so we can get whatever sound we like. Magnaflow is deep and mellow, Flowmaster gives the old school muscle sound, Corsa is nice and clean sounding with no drone, and SLP loudmouth is the closest legal thing to having straight pipes.
If I were the OP, I'd lay out the options in the $700 and below range, and listen around to every video possible until I knew what I really wanted.

If you think you'll have the car for a while, I would definitely get a stainless exhaust. I really like the sound of GMMG, but I've never been a fan of their oval tips. I went with their standard angle cut tips.
The only other exhaust I seriously was the 2OTL, but I wasn't a big fan of the appearance. If you like the look, those sound very good. You may be able to find one used, but finding one new would be difficult and it wouldn't be cheap.

Well I currently drive a 1995 z28 and I am on a low budget (700), I found these flowmasters online and wanted to get everybody's opinion about them.Has anybody mess with them before? If so, does performance increase? And I've notice the tips on these exhaust are tilded down slightly, does anybody got pictures of them on your camaros and trans ams? Thanks.

When I was looking for an exhaust, which was probably 2006 or 2007, there was a new SLP 2OTL on EBay. The guy wanted close to $800 for it if I'm remembering correctly. The likelihood of finding one of those these days has to be approaching zero.

As said, sound, color ect depends on each personal preference, as some may like the sound of one system while others like the sound of another, you can only choose, as to performance, everyone claims that after they installed a flowmaster muffler, the performance sucked, do you have proof or is one going by the butt o meter, back in the day when we had a shop we tested a lot of performance parts, One was the flowmaster, I can tell you on my car, I had the 40 thunder series and it was just too loud for me, the car made 648 RWHP, I switched to I believe 80 series flowmaster for an SUV, it was twice the size, and the sound was very mellow, results, 646 rwhp, so that told me if they could design a muffler that reduced the sound tremendously and still able to maintain the flow characteristics that they were doing something right, now have I tried another muffler to see if any gains can be had, no. On another note, we had a TA on the dyno, he had a spin tech muffler, on the dyno with no other changes, we swapped a magnaflow and a 20 hp gain was achieved, evidently the spintech was very restrictive. Now beware of knock offs, the number one was the flowmaster.
