700R4 tranny vs 4L60E? I am looking at buying a friends 93 Z28. I know it needs a new transmission.
I believe this car had a 700R4 transmission (the 4l60 can out in 94 I think)
Can I just put in a 4L60 or do I have to find a 700R4????
Also, if I can use a 4L60, can I use one from an S-10 (I know the 4x4s had a 4L60) or something else or are these trannys car specfic??
Final question, what can I expect to pay for a used 700r4 or 4L60??

The 700r4 is the same as the 4l60. However 94 and up are the 4l60E (e is for electronic.) And the tranny out of an S10 isnt a 4l60e, and even if it was the input shaft, bellhousing and tailshaft section would be all wrong. Look for a rebuild...cheaper.
