What to do with new loan?
1. Buy a procharger and run about 6 PSI forever (well not really forever) or till it blows up
2. Build a forged 355 with h/c thats setup for later forced induction.
3. Just get a bolt on off the shelf h/c setup (if i did this it would probably be the LE3 kit)
4. Least likely to happen, 6spd swap. Dont wanna blow of a few grand on a tranny when my car already has a tranny.
Opinions? Budget is right around 5k. Not sure if my options fall in with that budget but i want opinions. I can always add to the loan, which i know im most likely gonna have to do, so i dont want everyone tellin me that. Just give me some ideas for as close to a 5 k budget as possible.

depends what you want... if your looking to build a good drag car i would get a 9 inch rear end, drag wheels and tires, stall, subframes, control arms and brakets... then save the rest for a tranny rebuild.
get the most out of what you got.
if you want a dyno queen, get a pro charger, and build a tuff 355

i'd do a fresh rebuild, nothin crazy, go .030" over, so you have a nice new 355, le2 h/c, 3.73's, rebuild the tranny, get a stall, NEW sensors, all the bolt-ons, new opti, a nice set of drag radials, and try not to go all out.
If you have 5k to spend, pretend you have 4k. because i promise you that you will underestimate the cost, a lot. no matter how much planning you do, you WILL run into things. then take your leftover and start paying that **** back.

I would LOVE to be able to afford that.
The people on my local board are sayin go procharger and then rebuild the tranny.
How much would you pay for a 4000 mile complete procharger kit?

i would never buy a used supercharger, the same goes for engine internals. you don't know what has gone through them, and lets be honest... if you put 4k miles on it, you would say 200 miles, so figure that things got 25k on it.
all the things i mentioned are more than doable for 5k. the rear gears are gonna be around 800 installed, rebuild 1600 tops, h/c 2000, sensors/gaskets, misc another 500. Budget yourself correctly and it can be done. Go with NEW before you go with FAST, because if you try to go fast with old **** using a LOAN murphy's law will kick in and **** will get ugly fast.

Well the thing is is that i know the guy that owns the procharger. Wants 3k for the kit.
Also, a friend of mine is runnin a 6psi procharger on his stock (engine) 120k miles 94 t/a.
Im not jumpin on anything. I apreciate the advice here.

Nothing wrong with buying a used blower and comparing used blowers to used motors is apples to oranges. It's very inexpensive to have a blower rebuilt and upgraded while youre at it for a small fee. Not cheap to rebuild a motor.
