Default Best ECU for LTx?

My dad and i have decided to uprade the ECU on our 97 TA next. the only other mod it has is a 3.73 rear-end. We figure this would make the biggest difference in performance for the money. I know a lot of people go with the vette computers in their LSs. On occasion I've also heard that earlier model LT computers are more programmable than the later models such as mine. I'm looking for something that is really programmable. Something that could take a power adder in the future. Any suggestions are appreciated. thanks

They have the xfi system. But if your only mod is the 3.73 gears you dont really need a new computer. The one you have now is pretty programmable i.e. obd1 or 2 depending on your year model. Just get lt1 edit or tuner cats and a usb to obd1 or 2 interface. Oh also a computer lol.

Just switch out your OBDII you have for an OBD1.
Do some searching on here and you will find alot.

I went 9.8's @ 140 mph on a stock OBD1 pcm. You do not need to upgrade unless your plans are to go low 9's or 8's.
