Default a few questions about gears in a 6 speed... please help

i have a 95 6-speed with mid lengths, OR-Y, CAI, lt1-edit tune and a few other things done and now i want gears. i want the 4.10's but i was wondering if i will feel a BIG difference or just a little accelleration change.... Also, my cousin said that changing the gears will only help off the line accelleration and not make a difference if the car is already moving. but i think he is wrong. i thought that the gears make a difference no matter how fast ur going since the ratio is changed. am i rite, or will the gear change make no accelleration difference after the car is moving?

Like HBH said, he's wrong. I went from 3.23s to 4.10s in my auto T/A and it was a HUGE difference. I'm going 4.30s in my '97 with the 12 bolt and it should help alot, hoping to hit mid 12s with the gears and a sick 60 foot.

i second hbh and urbanhunter44. you will gain significant acceleration but at loss of top speed, but not to many people see the top speed of a z28
