Should I get one of these CAI kits or are they not much improvement over stock air box? I see the good ones are alot more $$$$.

the intakes in the first and third link will do nothing but suck up hot engine air. the second link looks like a better setup, but seems to have nothing to block the hot air from getting down near the filter element. i would save up and buy a slp, moroso, k&n, etc....

You get what you pay for.
If someone says a kit like that is fine, thats because they probably bought a similar one, or cobbed one themselves and want to justify it.
Bottom line is, REAL Cold Air Kits are 2X bigger than the stocker, and they relocate the filter to alot better of a position below where the old airbox used to be. Plus they are designed and tested for maximum airflow.

as a mattr of fact, i would custom make one out of PVC rather than going with one of those.

Would it make sence to try and route some 3" PVC from the stock air box to the front of the car and open up the block-off plates for the "ram air" effect, or just delete the airbox and go with 2 cone filters, or will the extra pipe restrict the airflow and make the setup useless?
I still recomend that u save up adn go with a Branded one (think K&N, Moroso, SLP, LPE)

Most of the name brand ones I've seen are for 94 and up.
MAF wont be a problem since 93s don't have them.
I was thinking not only going as low as could, but actually getting the filter out of the engine compartment and forward, and opening up the block off plaes to feed it fresh air.
