602rwhp 780rwtq Sae!
Thats right boys and girl's! After a few hours on the Dyno we got it fairly Dailed in! We had to keep moving the Start RPM up to keep the ET Street DRs from smoking on the dyno!
At 4,000 she was showing 780 RWTQ SAE corrected and 660 RWTQ at 5,000. We dailed in a safe 11.0 to 1 AFR to get 602 RWHP SAE corrected.
SO we head to the track to get some new times. Track was hooking pretty good! would only spin 10 or so feet and dead hook.....WELL once it did it was very apperent that it is time to call yank for a new Conveter. Once she hook's the tach fly's to 6,000RPM or so and stays there until the end of the run where it creeps up and starts to tag the 7,200 RPM rev limiter
So now at least we know WHY the car is SO damn consistant and run's 10.32-34 all day long! We did manage to pick up 2 MPH for a 10.321@135.x pass.
I guess Nines are out for now

Thanks guys! It was on a 200 shot and that is to the HP what we showed for a Gain.
The Converter is a 2001 Yank Pro Truster 3,800. It was built to be street strip N/A. I will find out if it is hurt today. I will be running a N/A street class and with the weather it should run 11.40s
Funny part is how the car shreaded the ET Street DRs on the dyno. they are pretty much done lol

Well we got the Transmission problem fixed! With all the rush to get from the dyno to the track(100+ miles and a ferry ride) I forgot to take the Dyno shift program out. So what was happening is as soon as the car would launch it would go in to third gear Then again I guess 10.30 on the converter and thrid gear ONLY is not to bad!
SOOO.... This was a two day event and I figured it out first thing with a drive around the pits. We also noticed an Oil leak we found on the Dyno was not fixed with a new oil filter. It was not bad so we just cleaned it up and changed the shift tables.
First pass DA is 525 and 60 degree's. track is cold. I launch the car and hit the button about 20ft out. the car spins violently but runs a new best at 10.27@134.91 the 60 was only a 1.59
Get back to the pits and check every thing. The Scan says she went into knock retard and it was stuttering at the end of the track. I take some more timing out(14degree's from N/A) and get in line again.
DA is about the same as is temp but the track has warmed up. I do my burn out and roll up to the line against one of the guys. Lights come down and I launch the car and at 20ft I hit the button again! She shakes real hard fighting for traction and finds it pinning me in the seat on the way to a 1.49 60ft. 1st gear spinn's by fast and I tap the 7,200 rev limiter as second gear comes on. She is pulling real hard and I remember to reach over and hit the logging button(14second foward and back). Third gear snapp's off nice and hard but does not upset the straight run we are on. By now the Cobra is far behind and I am trucking past the 1/8 at 6.461@108.97. The next four seconds seem like a life time and she starts to break up about 200ft out. I look in my Mirror and ALL I can see is smoke! DAMN! I am NOT lifting! It feels to good! Just before I hit the trapp's smoke starts coming inside the car...but I am NOT LIFTING!
I fly through the trapps at 135.56 MPH in 10.059 seconds for a new best! I look at the dash and all reads well and the engine sounds great but a Look at the smoking trail I just left tells me some thing is not right.
SO I am figuring the car slowed down as "I" have not seen the numbers yet. I get back to the Slip Booth and everyone is looking glum like it was bad. I get my slip and see the times and start cheering inside the car and they are laughing because they got me
Once we get it back to the pits a pop of the hood tells the story. Nothing big was really wrong. a $2 part is now keeping me from re-tuning and making the Nine second pass I so baddly want!
Thursday night we had to thrash and remove the intake to make some adjustments for number Eight being lean. when we did we evedently fractured the oil fitting on the back of the block...which was now Spraying Royal Purple ALL over the firewall and transmission!
I am pretty sure with just a little more tuning she will dip down into the Nine...Just not today
BTW the Conveter worked like a champ today but I would still like a better 60ft so I think I will send it in to be redone
All in all? Ellis HAPPY!
Check it out here!
