Question wheel hop

i just bought another trans am 97 why does it wheel hop so bad my other one dont

Idk but mine did the same thing , Air bag in the right rear coil stoped that for me and it was about $35

I'm assuming you have "power hop" when accelerating rather than "brake hop" when you are braking hard.

You may have worn rear shocks, or replacements which aren't valved like the stockers.

Possibly the torque arm mount at the trans is worn or cracked.

You possible could have the torque arm hitting the exhaust or similar interference especially if exhaust system parts have been changed. Have someone outside the car watch you do a hard launch and see if the wheels actually are hopping.

i went to a poly tranny mount and it stopped it for me

i dont know why your getting wheel hop...but i know aftermarket lower control arms with the relocation brackets are supposed to help with that.

every bit of it is stock for now.when i hit the gas hard it spins for a minute and then starts wheel hopping i have to let out of the gas its so bad

bet it's just worn out parts, like shocks. My caddy had dead rear air shocks, and hopped kinda bad, then I replaced the rear shocks It got better. Then I put air lift 1000's in the coil springs, and put them at 5psi both sides for driving. They pretty much quit hopping. any mods to the "other one that don't"? how many miles on each one?

also if you lower the car, with out relocating the LCA's it will wheel hop.
