How do you like it?
The OBD2 LT1 tuning programs like LT1Edit and TunerCat look crappy compared to the LS1 stuff like EFILive, HPTuners, etc... but I can't find any alternatives.
Can anyone comment on the quality of these programs? $400 is a LOT to blow on a piece of software that can't even do datalogging.

LT1Edit and Tunercat are "it".
I have LT1Edit for OBDII. It does the same stuff that LT1Edit does.
IMO, if you don't live in a location that requires a plug in under the dash during vehicle inspection, there's not much sense in keeping the OBDII PCM in there. As you've seen, it's much more expensive to keep the OBDII PCM in there than it is to just stick an OBD1 computer in there. You'll spend $400 for TC/LT1Edit, and then you need something like AutoTap on top of that.
But yeah, no scan tool with either. Maybe you can find an older copy of AutoTap for DOS somewhere (with the cable of course). It works well. That's what I use on OBDII LT1 cars. I have EFILive for my LS1, but I use old school AutoTap for OBDII LT1's.

I am considering starting an open source tuning and datalogging project.
There is already open source OBD2 diagnostic software from the FreeDiag project (NOT to be confused with the OBD1 freescan project). The project has been neglected for a while but it takes care of the basic gruntwork of getting diagnostic info from the PCM. Watch this thread in the next few days...

Recently bought LT1 edit for my 96 SS and I also bought a copy of autotap for the monitoring and logging. Not much experience yet with them since I'm still waiting on some parts before I put in the new/rebuilt motor I have.
