Dyno tune vs Mail order
I know it would be if it was a H/C car...
Thanks.
P.S. Car also has a fuel system and all the small stuff.
By the time you get a mail order tune, and a few dyno pulls, then send your psm back for an update, then get another few dyno pulls...well, you've probably just spent the same amount of $ as a dyno tune. And your car wasnt out of comission for a couple weeks while your pcm was in the mail.
I have full bolt ons, and got started off with a mail order tune. AFR was off--in the 11's. I ended up getting a dyno tune (from Brian at PCMForLess) and it took him 3 pulls to nail it spot on. I suppose you might get lucky and the mail order tune will be spot on....
my advice is Dyno tune. no crappy mail order. they are not physicly tuning your car, they are just putting in specs on what it should be......dyno tune they are in the car, seeing everything, and tune it to the maximum performance.
go Dyno tune. if you can make to Rockford, go to Simpson performance. his SN is BoostJunkie on here. he has tuned tons of LT1's.

A mailorder tune from a reputable tuner can be pretty damn near perfect for most cars. A few years back when one of the Impala guys was looking to push the NA record down some more he trailered his EW mailorder tuned car all the way from FL to OK, Ed found single digit power gains. An ignorant person would think that bad but an intelligent one would realize that just showed how great a job Ed did on the mailorder tune.
Dynos are absolutely useful tools but most of you think at little too much of them.
