i picked up an slp hood for my 97 ta last summer at our local parts-o-rama. now the cars about finished and i am trying to make a decision on what air intake to put on it. the actual slp ram air intake $300 says you can gain 10-15 horsepower. the slp non ram air intake (ebay) $188 says you can gain 15-20 horsepower. what would you put on it? would it be gay to have the ram air hood then open it to a non ram air intake? what would you do?

I would do the ram air intake for the purpose of having the hood. It looks better and flows better. There isn't a big difference in the two performance-wise. But the ram air one will not have a restrictive elbow and you will get the ram air effect at high speeds.
