How to make LT1 Fast?
Hi guys. I have always built carburated street rods and muscle cars and I just picked up an LT1 camaro for myself to play with. I don't know how limited I am to modifications due to the computer/EFI. It is a 93 with the speed density. How big a cam can I put in it and still have it run right with the computer? What are the best bolt ons? Gears? Injectors? Sorry for all the questions, I am just new to the fuel injection thing. Basically, could you please post some engine specs you guys have run and the bolt ons you have used. This will be basically a play car. I build show cars, so I am looking forward to building a car I can get in and have so fun. Thanks.

What's th4e budget? Auto or 6 speed? N/A or power adders?
I like big cubes and spray. My set up is a prety big cam 242/248 112 lsa. I have ported heads and the motor was designed for spray. Also have a a4 with vig 3200 stall that stalls at about 3800 on spray. Car ran a best of 10.47 coming out soft on the 60ft.

Auto=3:73s for a street car and street n stripe you can do 4.11...
6speed=4.10,4.30s
Im not a Carb guy, and your not a EFI guy so......With that said you can make a LT1 run a carb...
My buddy had a Carbed LT1 setup, just a cam and mild head work
Cam Sizing really depends on what you want, you will see the same cams come up alot and most of them are normal mild street setups.....
GO WITH A CUSTOM CAM, Def well worth the money
Look around the forum, all the FAST" Cam only or mild head work cars are running custom cut cams....Im not happy with most things that are off the shelf, im not saying there bad but there decent enough but to go fast, custom is were its at.....
You need to get the ECU tuned either way, You can get mail order tunes to your setup or have it dynod
Your from IL, we have alot of good shops around here and a strong car scene etc

Depeding on your budget, start with the basic bolt-ons, I.E: LT Headers, Cold Air Intake, Catback, Throttle Body, etc. Of course, there are little things like an Air Foil for your throttle body. After bolt-ons, I'd go to cam and head work.
Of course, you can just juice(nitrious) the thing.

Airfoil is a waste IMO , throttle body on a stock car a waste.
