383 question real quick?
So i know that the norm for a lt1 383 is usually 11:1 for pump gas. My question is, is 10.3:1 going to be unacceptably low for me to make good numbers. heads and cam are matched to make the most power possible but im just wondering if the compression is going to be too low. i also have by far the best tuner in the world working that part. so i guess the real question is am i going to go 11s on motor or not with this thing? supporting mods are LT's, 3500-4000 stall, 3.73s, and so on. just need opinions. and this isnt going to work i can still mill the heads and change the compression. thanks in advance.

Isn't the stock compression allready 10.4:1? If I can ask what would be the point in lowering the compression? I mean if your gonna lower it for boost your going to want to lower it more than that.

Your heads and cam should compliment your compression ratio so I am not sure what they are matched to make the most power. Also, there is not a "normal" compression ratio for a given motor size. There will be a noticeable difference from a 10.3:1 vs. 11:1. You should probably go over your setup again and make sure you have all best matched parts. So to answer your question, yes it will work but probably not the way you want it to. Have you decked the block? What size head gasket are you running? What is your SCR and DCR?
