i just finished up my opti/new water pump install, i put coolant in it and im about to start it up when i notice a steady drip of coolant on the pass side, so i look up there and the damn gasket fell out when i was putting in my waterpump and i didnt see it, im so ******* pissed right now i cant even take it anymore.

I always put a few dabs of gasket sealer on the block side on LT1s to hold the gasket in place while installing the water pump. Do it next time.

yeah my blazer's Waterpump is the same as a 350 V8's and they are that way too. You ahve to put sealer to keep it in place or shovethe bolts in the pump with the gaskets on too and try to hold it while you start them .pain it the *** but it's gotta be done. Good luck.
