I don't have one but I hear they're great for using to lift your car when you're pulling the engine out the bottom.

I have one...and didnt notice much if any difference. But I mean it had to help a little, I picked up a new one from UMI for $80-$90...plus I think it makes the engine bay look a little cooler lol.

They do absolutly nothing for handling, buy a set of koni's if you want it to handle better.

Thumbs up

I have a HOTCHKISS brace...mostly for looks.. .....BUT-- it helps with keeping the front end from flexing..[some here will debate that statement. ].I am NOT SURE about lifting car with it though. I bought mine within 10 thou miles...and have no cowl shake and my T-Tops are TIGHT/TIGHT/TIGHT.

I saw a brace that laid across the back seat floor from door to door to help from flex, I'd think that'd help more. Of course I don't remember where I saw it :\

depends on the car. when we install them on w-bodies it helps immensely, and makes squeaks and creaks go away.

They would have to keep the front from FLEXING...PHYSICS make this an ABSOLUTE....Especially on an F-Body...without a fixed roof...[T-Tops].......

Chiming in on a common argument.

I have a umi STB, and besides dressing up the engine bay a bit and being the perfect place to lift the car off the engine, the only real noticable difference I noticed was that my cracked dashboard doesnt rattle nearly as much

If its doing that it must be doing SOMETHING to prevent flex, or at least vibrations, but I would be lying if I said it was a big noticable improvement in handling.

For what its worth, I take it off when I drag.

The front end would have to be flexing in the 1st place for the strut tower brace to help. Keyword STRUT tower brace, and our cars don't have struts either. How about you go into the suspension section on this site and start arguing your statement with the people who have won national championships autocrossing ect... Of course your drilled/slotted rotors, lowering springs without shocks listed in your sig, and hood pins show how much you know about suspension, or lack of.
