Default injector question

i have a forged 383 splayed to 4 bolt, LE heads, ported intake, 58mm t/b, msd coil and wires, accel shorty plugs, crane fireball ignition, a comp cams 468 cam 586 lift intake and 579 lift exhaust dont remember the lsa or duration off the top of my head. fuel regulator, long tubes, 3" o/r y-pipe, 2400 stall, gmmg catback, 3:23 gears. roughly a little below 11:1 compression. my question is what will stock injectors handle because at 45 psi fuel pressure and 44lb its too rich and fouls the plugs in 10 miles. will stock work for awhile til i get others?

It might idle with stock injectors if the pcm is tuned for them, but I wouldn't drive it anywhere for long. You'll probably be maxing them out and they might fail.

If it's running rich, look to other than the injectors. Unless they're leaking or bad then it's probably not them. Double check the tune, vacuum lines, exhaust leaks etc. Why are you running higher fuel pressure? That may have an effect as well if you're not tuned for it correctly. That's a good cam, too. Let us know what results you get.

Your stock injectors I'd say are probably good for no more than 28# for probably a few minutes lol It'll probably fall right on it's face when you try to drive anywhere @ factory 24#.

Your setup I'd say 36 or 38# might be a better option, but I would let others chime in. You can always lower your PSI if you're running a AFPR which will lower the injector poundage, and also since yours is a 95, you can just tune the car where it sits with a computer, software and an ALDL cable. There's many things in the ECM that can be changed to run leaner. And on that note, I did notice you didn't list a tune... Which if you haven't had one, I'd say that is your problem right there. Another thing, is if you're injectors are SVO, that 44# SVO rating is around 50# (probably more if I did the math) @ 43PSI, because Ford runs 36psi.

Sea, 2psi over stock isn't going to hurt anything 44# @ 45psi is probably 44.5# heh

Yeah, I didn't bother to do the calculation.

I just found that equation for the SVO, and it doesn't exponentially increase as I thought. So 44# is only 46#, which basically would mean 45PSI over 43PSI wouldn't even be 44.5#
