Default i was wrong...it wasnt the alternator...HELP!!!

when i start my car (97 z28 m6) in the morning (or after the car sits for an hour or so after being driven) theres this real loud squeeky sound coming from the passenger side of the motor.as i start driving, the higher the rpms are at, the louder the squeek gets.As i drive around 50mph or so, and put the car in neutral the noise goes away ..until i put it back in gear that is. butafter 10-15 minutes of driving the squeek goes away for the rest of the trip..i just replaced the alternator..but its still doing the same squeek!!!what the hell could this be???? im lost

My AC compressor makes a squeak that was nasty, it went away though, so I have NO clue wtf it was from. It IS located under the Alt, so maybe you too?

Freaking irritating ain't it? When I drove it down the street, I though everyone was looking at me - like I had toilet paper on my shoe. Guy at the parts store asked did I want it checked, I just said hell no, just give me one that doesn't squeak. My car has other problems now but at least it doesn't squeak.

make sure that all the bolts are snug that are going to the alt. I had one that backed out,(bottom) that caused a squeak that would come at startup until the motor pushed the alt back into proper position.
