Default Pickin up a new Trans am... wonderin what everyone thinks

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...00&cardist=200

I talked to the owner he said he ran a 13.0 @ 110 with a 2.3 60 ft ... the car it self has around 170,000mi but the new built lt1 engine has roughly 35k.. the lowest price he'll go is 6500.. i need some advice because the car is 150mi away so if i drive down there im most likely going to buy it.. i dont know what kind of problems to expect with a car with that many miles on it if anyone has any suggestions let me know....

I would look around still not worth it says lots of mods heads and cam and only running 13.0 at 110 something is up. you can find something much nicer with lower miles for that price. or an LS1 for 7500.

It just seems like the guy had a shitty launch. 2.3! I did a 2.0 basically stock. Cause he pulled through with a 110mph.
I haven't seen the market in a long time so I don't know what the prices are nowadays. It's got a lot of stuff done for you already, then again he probably beat the **** out of it. It's whatever your looking for.. something built or start all over with something stock.

Well i think thats a hella of a deal, well around hear you can;t find an LS1 for 7,200$ with no more then 100K on it man, and this has mods and all so i think its a good deal, considering that i got my 97 Trans am with 96K on it for 7K, well i got my car for free, bro bought it and then gave it to me but still. I dunno maybe other places are cheaper, i live in the bay area of california. what area do you live?

That ain't a real bad deal I don't think. I give $4k for my Z. It had quite a bit done to it and I parted it out for about $2k but I've turned around and put some work in it too. You'd probably get him for $6. Drive down there, talk a lot about it, get detailed. Look the body over cuz that counts too. If he don't take $6, just be like well I guess I'll hit the road. If he don't stop ya and take $6K, go to McD's, think it over a Big Mac. Then if you think it's worth it go back, maybe he'll have changed his mind and come down or you're on your way.

haha thats my plan, but yea the car has a built motor and the NOS is not installed, he said he couldnt hook up hence the 2.5 60 ft, so u figure if u can get that down to 1.8 ud be runnin low 12's all motor, with the nitrous probably high 11's.. doesnt seem bad for 6500$ but im driving down there this weekend and ill let u guys know

maybe he's running some kind of slappy gfunk worthless tires. I'd look around still, for that price you could get an LS1. In fact go to the Texas section https://ls1tech.com/forums/texas-members/746985-98-z-28-sale-6000-a.html

If its what you want then buy it. If you having second thoughts then you dont really want the car. If the car is worth what hes asking (to you) I say go for it. But you can get one cheaper. I just bought a daily driver 96Z last week. Full bolt ons, suspension, 12 bolt, leather, and an unmolested Bose system, w/ 90,xxx miles for 5500. If you look you will find exactly what your lookin for.

minor flesh wound, lot of haulers that could swing that. If it were me I'd get the opti changed, rather have him do that about $500 bucks, fly down and drive it back. It's not a race car so for the price bargain him to include fixing the opti. Just a thought.
