Default My Track Times before/after Converter...

I previously ran a best of 13.31@103mph with a 1.91 60ft in 60 degree weather. Mods were LT's/ory, Hooker catback and bald 245/45/16 nittos. I ran with the stock 17" WS6 wheels on the front.

I just went to the track yesterday and ran a best of 13.39@101mph with a 1.81 60ft in 80 degree weather. Same mods as before but I added a Edge 3200 stall converter, tune, and brand new 255/50/16 MT ET steet radials. I ran with 18" C6 Z06 wheels on the front if that makes any difference from the 17's?

What could of possibly slowed the car down overall besides the 20 degree weather increase and 18's on the front instead of 17's? Or is the converter less efficient up top/slipping and slowing my et/mph down?

Heres a few pics from the track

Did you try launching it at different rpms? When I put in my Yank SS3600, my first couple of runs were dissappointing. I tried foot braking it from 1100 all the way up to about 2200 on different runs. It seemed like the higher I went, the better times I got. From lower rpm launches, the e/t got lower, but so did the trap speeds. As I lunched from higher and higher rpms, the e/t went down and the trap speeds went up.
You should gain both e/t and trap speeds with the converter you have.

Also, with the MT streets, you probably raised the total height of the tire/rim combo on the back. The MT streets shoule help your launch, but
your trap speeds may come down since the tire is taller. I lost 2mph when going from Nittos to ET streets, both on a stock 17 WS6 rim. The car did however go down the track quicker.

The D/A and temp can cause a huge fluctuation in ET. Your 60' was better so I doubt anything with your stall/tire/wheel combo affected you too much. I would say it's just the weather.

When my car was stock I was 13.2's all night in the heat and in the winter months I was running about .4's better, 12.8's and 12.9's all night.

Must be your wheels, those are heavy compared to the stockers, I have chrome c6 wheels on my 1999 t/a, these are the same c6 wheels I had on my 1994 t/a. Back when I had my LT1, just replacing the stock 16" wheels for these c6 made me .31 slower! And I had done some upgrades to the car to compensate for that, like a complete tune up, opti cap a rotor, pcm tunning, I guess it would've been a lot slower, like a .5X without all that done!!! I also had the stock 2.73s on that car....

What is the weight difference between WS6 17's and C6 wheels? 20 lbs, maybe? My bet is the weather.

The DA was pretty high and it was muggy out. And I did try and launch it at a few different rpm's and I had better sucess with launching it at a higher rpm.

Thanks guys for your opinions. Im hopeing on a cooler day on a better prepped track with some skinnies on the front it will turn a 12.9 before I spray it.

well IMHO those rear tires are too skinny but the are an upgrade from what you had.. and the front tires might be slowing you down a little bit.. but f*ck it. i think you should launch as hard as your converter will allow you to and see what happens.. my guess is you will drastically decrease your 60 foot time and have a much better et..
