Default LE2 + 150 shot = stock short block??

Will a stock 96K short block handle LE2 cam and head plus 150 wet shot? If not what needs to be done to the short block? Thanks.

I think I would be a little nervous.... Make sure your fuel system can handle it to begin with

Do it. I have to say that because I made 530whp on a stock bottom end 355 with a little juice. I could have made more but I had to up my fuel system. Thats over 600 at the flywheel. I'm pretty sure I was pushing the limits of my motor.... but....... it held up for a long time and when tore down, no signs of wear on the engine or rings or the main caps. I say you'll never know until you try, how much money do you have to spend in case it breaks, are you ready for it to break just in case it does, because from what i hear from everyone including my machinest....... That was probably the limit for my motor. But it is a LT1 and they write a new story every week. And they are almost always good.

I'm going to spray mine with a 150 shot once I get a better transmission and what not. Somehow my stock 109k mile stalled 4L60E is still holding up.

set up the N20 kit right, run it safe, and make sure your fuel system is adequate and you should be okay for low 11s at least.

i have mine with 76k miles and i have the le2 cam with heads pkg, and i just sprayed 150 shot, i have'nt got any good times in it , but its held up so far. the converter went out on the first passes. btw i bought a wet system from some1 here in this forum, i got the fuel pressure safety switch, timing retard, and uped the fuel pump, so i'm thinking i'm going the safe way on it .

I'm running a cam only motor and have hit it with a 200+ shot. I'm at 500rwhp(with a A4) but with your head work I would say you will be there with a 150 shot. It will last for a while. After I get my 10.8 pass I'm going back to one stage. So with any luck it will make it to the end of the season. The rearend died last time out.

In the process of installing a 9" with 35 spline axles and a spool.

RPMs kill stock shortblocks, not power. Just don't rev too much and it'll hold.

What does the rest of your valvetrain consist of? What RPM are you shifting at? What RPM does that convertor foot brake to?

I have the comp 986 double springs, with stock rockers. On the dyno it pulled without dropping off to 6500(then hit the rev limiter). I try to shift at 6500. Footbraking the stall only goes to about 2400 on the street. I hold it at 1500 and flash it to about 4200 on the nitrous.

Is your rear a 10 bolt?

I have a dyno tune 150 wet kit with upgraded (250hp) soleniods. I then added a second stage that is jetted to about 60rwhp. So it is a two stage system but I had problems with it spraying the second stage when I was at the dyno. So I replaced the relay and removed the time delay on the second stage. I sprayed both stages off the line and the 10 bolt broke on the second launch.

I'm in the process of piecing together a nine inch. I will have it together tommorrow if the axles show up. Then I will be going to the track friday if all goes well.

I would keep it at 6500 or lower and you should be fine. Just watch the oil pressure and if it starts dropping it is time to tear it apart.
