Default High horsepower guys, what are you using for vacuum pump?

I need a vacuum setup to mount on the drivers side, what are you doing for a pulley on the balancer?

Nobody makes a belt driven vac pump for an lt1. I have seen electric but I doubt they would work on a high HP motor. I just use an Evac kit its better than just running breathers. I would suggest you call these guys they might be able to come up with something. I saw a real nice setup on an LS1 recently these guys make very nice stuff. http://www.gzmotorsports.com/vacuum-pumps.html

There is a good thread about this about a year or so ago if you can find it.

I use a Moroso Pump, Mandrel, and Pulley (cog/gilmer belt).

My coil is mounted there, guess I am gonna have to get creative.

I have a Ford crankcase evac pump from my old Ford days...just so damn BIG, part number M-9486-A460....gonna be hard to mount.

That Moroso pump looks MUCH smaller, I am gonna have to mount it low on the drivers side.

The bracket is custom made but I can give you the phone # of the person who made it (my engine guy Lance).... The pump I believe is a 3 vane pump and it's available on Reher-Morrison's website as a complete kit. They aren't a sponsor so you'll have to look up the link on google (rehermorrison dot sumthing).... The bracket that is mounted to the pump itself comes with the kit. the other bracket is the one that is fabbed up and the one that you'll need from lance.

The # for the bracket is (707)429-1888 at California Street Machine and like i said the guys name is Lance. The only bad part is that he's on vacation right now in Mexico with his wife but he'll be home I believe the end of this week. Gives you some time to get the pump kit and then order it. Tell him that Jason gave you his name and you saw the bracket online. I told him that once I posted it people were going to want one like it.... So he's expecting some interest in it.... give him a call early next week and he can hook you up with pricing and build you one on the lathe...

Hey dave, just a side question totally unrelated but what length lokar cable did you get to work with your throttle body???? Reason i ask is because i have a lokar but it seems like it's way too long... and i don't want to waste money a second time...

Jason you can cut your throttle cable to the length you want and re-attach the ends.
