switching from a 98ss to a 97 30th SS give me positives
I am switching from my 98SS to a 97SS. My dad has a 95m6 and i always wanted the 6 speed after driving his. My car right now is full of bolt ons and has 418hp,......but it isn't a 6-gun. I love the fact that the Lt1 has an iron block, i don't care about weight, i would rather have strength. So what else are positive about Lt1. Sorry I just have always had an LS1. Thanks.

In stock mode you'll be going down in power big time. Plus going auto to 6 speed is good for street driving but shitty for drag racing(if your into that?). LT1's can be made to be stout! Plus a lt1 SS is more rare than the ls1 SS.

car is more rare, if you don't have the paper work you can get with SLP about reprints on the options and stuff. Is it an anniversary edition? Performance wise it is a step back in a few areas. But i am very partial to it
due to being in high school when it came out. It can easily be modded and made fast, but considering how rare it is I would probably keep it as stock as possible.

Accept for the fact that he will get 10x more heads turning due to the unique look of a 30th SS, compared to a stock 1 in a million 98+ SS. In 97 they only made about 3000 Camaro SS models. I would take looks and already great performance over a lighter, little bit faster new car any day.

you'll look better ... LT1's can be made very fast, its just our heads sucked from the factory, unlike the ls1's came with pretty good heads already. but there is a lot of potential to be had with the LT1 heads.

SS and WS6 even modded f bodies are normal around here
Stay with the LS1, there is no reason to down grade at all really

i really like the look of the anniversary package especially on an SS. My first camaro was a 95 v6 5 speed, and well the sunk in headlights and pointier nose just look faster to me. Don't get me wrong my LS runs like a *****-fugger but i kind of want a return to my roots so to speak. Plus my LS is not paid off yet and i would be able to buy the 97 straight up, decent deal cause the car has higher mileage. But that also being said look at the money 60's camaros are pulling down even non-numbers matching.

just do whatever u want. its not like lt1's are "slow" its not like going ls1 to honda. if you get the lt1 you will be out of debt(dot no for sure). and maybe extra money for mods if you want. if u like it souly on looks why not buy one without a motor (or high millage, if you can find one) and put your motor in it. then part out your ls1 or sell it without the motor. who knows u might come out with even more money that way
