Default cc503 and 3600 Stall?

Just trying to make sure a Yank SS3600 2.5str would be the best converter choice for my setup before I buy it next week. I have 3.73's and the cc503 (224/230 .535/.544 112lsa). I want the car to be a good DD but really perform on the street and the strip. Didnt post in Automatic section b/c wasn't sure if the LS1 guys would realize that LT1's torque come in sooner so we dont need as much of a stall as they do.

nothing wrong with your selection from what i have seen and done.
how about supporting mods:
injectors
fuel pump
some can be left on the table w/o these

i was wondering wat would be a better stall for a bolt on LT1 that is a summer car that sees a good amount of street time but a lot of track time...

3600 vig or a 3600 yank?

You should check out Edge Racing converters before you buy. They build a converter custom for your application and have some pretty cool guarantees. I just got one and it will go in this next weekend. Do a search on them, I have not found anything but positive reviews on them.

I've been a Vig customer since 1996...The Vig 3600 is what I used to get the times in my sig...I have since sent it back for a freshening and a re-stall to 4000 since my output shaft went bye bye...The Vig is a terrific DD converter, very efficient...Drives like a stocker until you nail it...and the customer service is fantastic...Highly recommend...It was one of the best mods I made...

A lot of people have not heard of Pro Torque Converters, I had one, Excellent and the customer service is unbelievable, I had the first converter sent to me and it did not stall like I wanted, called Pro torque, I think his name was Joe Rivera something like that, anyway he sent me another one but it stalled too high for me, so finally the third one was perfect for my mods, But get this, He paid for ALL of the shipping both sending and receiving, I would just give the converter to UPS, did not pay anything and he also paid for the tranny fluid, Headder gaskets and labor that was spent R & R the converter, Now which company would ever do that!!!!!!

Im set on the Yank I just want to know if the 3600 with 2.5str is good for my application or would a 3200 with 2.2str be better?

Why don't you just call Yank and explain what your goals are and how you are going to use the car? I'm sure they would be glad to help with your decision.

You sir are building the exact same car that I have planned. 3.73s, 32-3600 Yank, and the 503. Kudos to you for doing your research before modding.

Back on topic, either one of those would be fine as a DD. I am looking at the 3200, but it's only because I'm still trying to convince myself to jump higher. I really don't want to have to deal with stall wall since I'm OBDI. Go 3600 and never have traction again!

That I did and they said the 3600 I'm just concerned about how much the 2.5str will lower my rwhp up top versus that of a 2.2 str.

Sweet man i think we will have some nice running LT1's with that setup. Bout that stall wall I think you can have tuning take care of that but not 100% sure but Im pretty sure any stall over 3000 can trigger that again not 100% sure. Im afraid to go 3200 and then wish I went bigger like everyone says. I'll have the car to the track once I get either converter installed in about a month or two so I will let you know how it runs.

You have about the same mods that I have in my car, I have a 1993 z28. I just put in an EDGE 9.5 inch converter that is rated at a 3400 stall. It really works quite well. When I don't have my foot on the floor, you can feel the stall a little bit, but when I have put my foot on the floor with brand new winter tires, I have spun them through first and second gear. Now it is time for a new rearend and et streets.

It doesn't show up for everyone, just some. Some obd1 care have issues with high stall converters unless you tune it specifically to fix that.

What about Fuddle Racing converters? I have 2 friends with LS1's granted who run them and they love them. Any body have any experience with them in LT1's?

Good choice on the converter. I really wish that I could have gone with something like a 3600 2.5. Do it and don't look back.
