Default High end miss, lets solve the problem.

What could cause the problem of higher rpm opti skipping? Each time I replace an opti, the problem still persists in the higher rpm region. After each opti breaks, I examine the insides, and notice that the rotor completely broke off the two screws holding it in. I have done a ton of research, and found two answers to the problem.

A. put new screws to support the rotor, along with thread locker

B. ignition control module is shot

what makes the opti skip? is it the cam?is there too much pressure somewhere? anybody?

If the missing never stops and then the opti physically comes apart then it is a SYMPTOM not a cause.

I would look for things like valve float and detonation to be causing the problems.

Mine used to miss like crazy up top because the coil was bad. It would miss so bad it wouldn't shift.
