Default jet-hot vs. pace setter

hey guys i need help with this decision and search results were not specific enough to answer my question.. i am choosing to get race style headers that are coated and (obviously) have no emissions with matching ory. so my question is.. is any one set of headers better so far as performance? and of the two which one is the easiest to install without fitting issues? thanks for the help.

I have Pacesetter LT's and have had no problem with them. I have read complaints from others on here who don't like them. I don't know anything abut Jet-Hot Headers. It seems that Kook's make very good stuff but they also charge for it! My Pacesetters installed great, with a good fit, and I've had no leaks. Great for the money IMO, but like I said others will disagree.

Ive only had experience with hooker and tpis, hookers worked great, tpis were fn junk, it sounds like alot of people have had good luck with the pacesetters.

I've had them both and the Jet-Hots were a little easier to install because on the driver side the one primary is separate so you dont have to take off the steering shaft and whatnot and the quality is noticibly better on the Jet-Hots versus the Pacesetters. As for power they will make the same.

ok cool, that's what I was thinking. it's just i hear about pacesetters all the time and was wondering if anything really competed so i found the jet-hots. but i guess there's a reason they sell so well. thanks.

KOOKS are in a class by themselves that Pace or JH cannot compete with. I didn't like the JH's in the end because of the leaking #1 primary sucking air and riching the drivers side bank on the PCM. Although JH did offer to repair/replace them I didn't see an improvement in design and turned out to be quite a few with the same problem.

Save a little longer and get the KOOKS

I've always heard this but I've never seen kooks in person so I'd like to know what all makes them so much better.

Do they fit better? last longer? just look better? all of the above?

They're also stainless and expensive as hell.

People get worked up because of the cost compared to the rest, but for $900 compared to Hooker's ceramic $600 (not worth the $$) or Jethot ($520), Pace ($?), etc, they fit much better, allow for better plug access, of course being stainless they last longer, most important to me was the performance of KOOKS stepped race headers 1-3/4 to 1-7/8 performance gain over standard LT headers, but that's just me...and yes they look better than any I've seen. The ceramic coated JetHots I had eventually took their toll from age/weather over a 2 yr period, the stainless KOOKS never showed anything but a stainless/gold tone that you appreciate.

sounds good. I might consider them if that new sponsor guy's stainless ones don't come out soon.

My Pacesetters are OK for what they are. But I think im going to leap for a set of Kooks before to much longer. Especially for the new build, unless these new XS headers WOW me (if they ever come out)

i guess ideally i'd need to save for kooks cuz i'm only planning on using this motor til it pops. now that i say that it probably never will, lol but long term goal is 383 or 396 so it would prolly be in my best interest. im gonna catch crap from my buddies cuz they'll think i'm stupid for spending so much on something i don't necessarily need. but we'll see who's stupid when i'm passing their asses, lol. thanks for the input guys.

The Jet-Hots are a more quality header.
Jet Hot also coats both the inside and outside of the header, unlike Pacesetter which only coats the outside.

If you want, you can buy black painted Pacesetter LT's right from Jet Hot and have them coat them with thier sterling coating, then the Pacesetter Y-pipe would work.
