Forged 383 stroker, STS Rear Mount, Alot of other stuff... Do you have all this done to your car? If so the 10 bolt is not going to last very long if you drive the car hard even
if you add stronger axles and other internal parts. You can buy stronger parts from Moser
or Strange but dont expect it to last forever. It would be better if you take it easy on the car and save up for for something that has a ring gear bigger then 7.5 inches, like a
Ford 9 inch, 12 bolt 8.75 inch, or a Dana 60. I also wanted to know if you are good at rebuilding the rear end? If you are not then you will also have to compare the price of parts and labor to a new rear end from a good company.

There is a guy running around town here with a rear STS on a LSx408 making 620hp to the wheels and runs a stock rear with 3.43s. Turbos typically wont hit the tires hard out of the hole, which saves the rears. He even ran 315 MT radials. Its not his daily but runs it hard on the weekends. These rears will take more than most give it credit for. Now I had 4.10s in my rear..with the mods in the sig...was wailing like a sailor on saturday night, so I upgraded before I had to call a tow-truck.

Good luck!

It can't be an M6!

I've destroyed & replaced three 10 bolts and I'm still N/A (my STS kit is still in boxes untill I buy my 9 inch!)

That 1-2 shift with a Kevlar clutch is brutal!

get rid of the 10bolt so you can drive it like you want to. dana60/s60 is stronger than a 9inch or 12bolt. just baby it until you have the bread for a rear end. adding aftermarket stuff doesnt really beef the 10bolt up much

I've had my 9 inch Moser rearend under my 4th gen for close to 9 years..... hundreds of launches and never had a problem..... slicks, big drag radials, sidestepping the clutch on spray and now transbrake launches on 325/50/15 MT Dr's..... never an issue..... can't beat a good moser rearend.... worth it's weight in gold...
