Default WTF is wrong with my A/F Guage?

I have my A/f guage spliced into my o2 just like the directions said to do.

when i first start the car the guage works fine. Im guessing when the cars goes out of open loop . The guage screws up. the little light just goes back and forth.

Anyone have any Ideas?

Thats what its supposed to do. Its a narrowband gauge. Your car is always trying to get to the perfect 14.7 a/f ratio thats why it jumps back and forth.

yea it works fine. as said before that is what a narrow band does. Your car will constantly go lean then rich quickly in order to stay in the stoich zone. Only when it first starts and when you are at WOT will it stay in a certain spot or area.

The injection constantly varies AFR across 14.7 so it can tell the O2s are functional.

The POS you bought is only vaguely useful when tuning a carbed vehicle, absolutely useless on one of these a distracting light show at best. Because of the what they are sold though you are far from the first to make this mistake and wont be the last.

Only time you should worry what that thing is doing is if you mash that go pedal down and it doesn't go green.

If you want to tell what your a/f is ditch that ricer gauge and buy a wideband.

I had an A/F gauge on my 98 Z28 and it was worthless. The light was always all over the place. It was more of a nuisance than helpful.

ONLY thing it can tell you is if the AFR is near or over(numerically) at WOT which would be bad. The narrowband stock O2s are only accurate at 14.7:1 AFR and are not linear above or below that.
