Default WTF Electicrial gremlims.............HELP

OK, car will not start, first I think OPTI like all LTX owners. Well it turns out the coil itself isnt getting power. Ive checked all fused and relays in the car. None were bad. I am at my wits end with this thing. I dont know why its not firing. Everything else on the car works...............but no power to the coil. Thought it was the ignition control module (changed it), no change it car. Am I missing something or...........what............

So what car do you have? I can't tell by your post.

I had ignition switch on top of the column go out and gave similar symptoms when it died.

96 SS M6, no codes, thats what boggles me, the only codes it did throw was for the crank position sensor and TPS. I replaced them and the codes went away.

you took a voltmeter, checked the power wire to the coil? and its not getting power? but the ign fuse for the coil at the box has power?

The optical sensor in the optispark is the cam position sensor.

Double check your groundwire to the ICM!!! Check inside your pigtails for corrosion and the contacts for spreading.

well, I got GHETTO on this car. I straight wired the coil. From the battery to the ign switch to the coil..........and what do you know it started right up. So now I know that the problem is the wiring, just finding the bad spot is going to be a PITA. I might just run new wires for the whole thing and just add that new wire into the wiring loom to hide it. Nobody will ever know it is there, but me. And Im not telling.
