Some assembly required ha?
The cap and rotor is an opti the other MIGHT be the module, but where is the opti housing, shaft, wheel etc. The ones I bought came complete and assembled--interesting.
Also I would NOT use that when an MSD is available for the price they are the best. An MSD won't come apart that the rotor is stock and they fall a part at high RPM
I would return it and say no thanks

1) As far as I can ascertain, the 16128261 "box" is some form of "Electronic Spark Control" (ESC) / knock module for the 1980's 'Vette. It's in no way related to an Optispark Distributor.
2) Looks like they just sold you a cap and rotor kit -- not a complete optispark unit. It's missing the rear plate / optical sensor.

2) Agreed - this is certainly NOT a complete Opti.

If you have a '96 take a look here " thepartsladi' has good feedback in the forums, genuine Delphi (GM) parts. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-96...spagenameZWDVW

"Please be aware there are other ignition sellers are on eBay selling this distributor claiming to be a GM Part. When in fact if you read there auction it does not come in a GM box and comes with Black Cap and Rotor.Genuine GM Delphi distributors do not come with Black Caps and come in GM / Delphi boxes."
i bought one from her and the it sat for a few months before my motor was all the way together and in ready to go in the car, 6,000 miles later i had to replace the opti again. and there was nothing she could do about it.

You are probably the first person I have seen on all the boards that has had a problem with thepartsladi. I am not sayingt it couldn't happen, but its not the same as all ignition who is a fraud. I also thought your happened due to incorrect installation, pin being used was too long or something to that effect.

The cap and rotor in the picture look like the replacements parts the are also sold under the "Standard Ignition" brand at many parts houses. I put one on my '96 Z-28 about 30-35,000 miles ago. It's still performing OK, but since I feel that a cap and rotor doesn't last much longer than that, I just bought another one and I'll be installing it soon.

From what I have heard about thepartsladi is: It is hit or miss, I have heard of a few people get off-brand optis from her, but most do get the real deal. It is just a crap shoot as to what one you will get.
Now allignition has done exactly what you describe some get a ac delco, most never work, and some get a crappy 2nd hand part.
