OMG!! plz help
OK well i just got done doing a cam swap on my 95 z about a month ago well when i did the cam swap i did a stall well i was dumb and bought a used one. Well I went to the track for the first time and it spun the whole track! i ran a 10.34 in the 1/8th. Ok dropped the tire pressure down and ran a 9.43 and both times it would just get up to about 4500 and start hitting the rev limiter the WHOLE way down> both times i mile per houred 69. Then the whole way home i didnt have overdrive i let it cool down and it ran fine never hit the rev limiter or anything. Well then i put a cooler on it. Now in 3rd and 4th i can smash the gas and it will run up to about 5000 or 5500 and it wont hardly move. This is my first stalled car so plz help i think that it is the convertor not locking up or something. SO PLZ HELP!

TC was in? Are you *sure* it was working in the car it came out of? And
if so, did you stab it correctly in the tranny? Please describe how you
installed the TC.

No i dont know the person that it came from it was someone off of ls1tech that i bought it off of and it was installed correctly. The torque convertor was ok when i put it in and now it has been about a month and now it just seems that it is slipping or just not locking up. IDK The transmission was just rebuilt about a year ago so i dont think it is the transmission.

I'll second you killing the 3-4 clutch pack. Theres a few mods that need to be done to make the 3-4 clutch pack live if your tranny guy doesnt know them you will burn these up repeatedly.
At the very least pull the pan and check the fluid. What was done to your tranny during the rebuild exactly?

Get on the horn with your tranny builder if its been under a year ago and ask him what he will do for you on fixing it if he has any kind of warranty.
Honestly I think you lost line pressure somewhere. The first one to go was the 3-4 pack since its the heaviest loaded and also the weakest ones. This could be something wrong with your pump itself, or a fluid leak somewhere. You should have quit driving it when 3-4 went mushy. YOU WILL NEVER HELP A TRANS THATS SICK BY DRIVING IT MORE. It will only get farther into your wallet by tearing up more ****.
Also at the bare minimum send your converter to the manufacturer and have it cut and cleaned and inspected. You may also consider having it restalled while its there, but thats up to you.
Evenif you do the work yourself, you're looking at about $800 to do it right assuming your builder just stuck clutches and seals back in it without upgrading any hard parts.
If you just want the problem to go away and you have the money, send it to one of the builders here. Vince at FLT does good work, so does Performabuilt.

The transmission was rebuilt by the previous owner so i am out of luck on the warrenty. So i am think of just getting the whole thing rebuilt and getting a brand new stall and getting rid of mine, i think the stall i have now is to big anyways. But i need to know what all i need to buy to have a transmission to withstand 400 or 450 horsepower.

Do what ya want, but for the money and headaches I searched abroad and came across Frank with PerformaBuilt. He made me a custom stall and a kickass stage 2 tranny that handled 600 ponies like it was nothing! For the price you can't get any better IMHO!
