Those 9inchs are heavy should have got you a Fabbed 9inch instead. They weigh the same as a stock 10-bolt.
Just ordered mine about 2 weeks ago.

A stock 9" is much stronger all around then a stock 10 bolt i'd say, congrats on the new stuff, your makeing a good choice, sure lighter is better, but you'll be happy that 9" is there.

did you not pay any attention to the thread from i think it was roadtrip...from the ltx shootout...31 splines? are you serius he trashed his on motor with a lt1...31 splines are terribly weak! and 12mm studs are stock...shoulda at least done 1/2
like i said...you got some junk axles, need at least 33 maybe 35 thats what i woulda done...
im simply trying to help you out...although you do have the baddest ls1 on this site with your big bad stroker...

Put some stickies on the car merv once you're setup. Cant wait to see the 60s and launchs on your setup!

Good luck.

PS: Got 33s in mine, 1.63 60s on motor and no turned axles. Brady was only cutting 1.7xs when he turned his...which I thought was odd.

Well I had 35 splines in mine...so Im not saying that more wouldnt have been better. But to say he has a heavy stock rear is pushing it. 31s are not THAT weak... the guy that broke them on a 1.7x?? There is more to that story Im sure, could of been a flaw in them or something. I do however HIGHLY agree that bigger and longer wheel studs be used. Its worth it.

Good one, and you do have some points as stated. But seriously, it's hard to take your expertise seriously with an avatar like yours. This is in jest of coarse, since I'm just a lowly LT1.

lol...well ive been 1.4 60' on a stock rear with a welded posi...it can be done...but if your spending the money for a 9 inch why do the smallest axles you can...
like i said with those axles its not much stronger than stock...his car on motor will prolly never have an issue with them...just sayin...if you put it in a rear car its basically a heavy stock rear, only the ring gear and posi are better....the axles are goana break...

just lie when he put his motor together for NA...i was sayin dont put heavy forged stuff in there...needed to put lightweight stuff it woula mode more power and been faster, honestly i dont understand when it only traps 96 in the 1/8

Woopdy doo I've gone as low as 1.61 several times in my 3600lb'er

edit: with my stock 10 bolt. Only 113k miles on it.

As an expert you should know that 28 spline is the "smallest" you can go, not 31..
