Default OK, I have an oil pressure issue???

Well, a while back, i was running M1 10w30 and my oil PSI would run 20 hot idle and then 30 no matter how high I ran it. I switched it back to dino oil (10w30) and it was much better (50 PSI WOT). Well, now cruising down the road, my oil pressure is 30 again and I really don't wanna go thicker with the oil. The motor is quiet. I put in a mechanical gauge and it read about 3 pounds higher than the stock gauge. Do you think, the oil pump could be going bad or do you think the oil cooler is getting plugged. i'm gonna delete the cooler tom. and see if that helps, but I'm just lookin for a second opinion.

You said cruising is at 30 again...what is it at WOT? The usual rule of thumb is 10 psi for every 1000rpm.

yeah, its like 40ish at 6K rpm. i drove our 20,000 mile vette tonight and its got 50 wot and 40 cruisin on 5w30 M1. I am gonna try the oil cooler delete b/c taking it off can get you a little pressure and sometimes they get clogged too. I just changed the oil out the other day and it was clean (no metal shavings or anything). The engine is quiet too (i.e. no rod knocking, or other noises)
