Default oil change soon

well normally i'd take it to a shop and let them do it but short on cash means, i'll be doing it. So what is probaly one of the best oils to put in it, i'm looking for synthetic that wont break my bank. Where is the oil pan drain bolt, and how many qaurts do our cars hold. I don't know when the transmission oil was changed, yeah i know manuals use gear oil what kind and how much should i get . How do u drain and fill the t56

if you want to save some more cash go to walmart and pick out a name brand oil. there usually $10-$15 cheaper for a 5qt jug compared to autozone for the same oil

Many manuals use ATF fluid. Lots to learn have you, young LT1 padawan!

As for "Mobile 1" being garbage, I don't think it'd hurt to run it once for 3k miles If budget permits next time, go with something better. And Mobile 1 is SURE as hell a lot better than the oil change places use!

2? They sell them in 5gal jugs now, so 1 is a full oil change. 4.5qt + .5qt for filter.

Go take a look. M1 cheapened the formula making it too thin. **** i thought this was common knowledge.

I didn't find anything on that site other then The new Zr1 is factory filled using mobile 1 also. Cant be that bad Gm used it in the Firehawks, SS'S and the Corvettes and now the new zr1. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Gm has more time and money into research into oil then most people on the internet. I will stick by Mobile 1 for now until i see otherwise.

93 Z28 takes 4.5 quarts of oil not 5. Just use regular old atf for the transmission.

Oh yeah, go to napa and get the napa gold filter or go to orileys and get a wix filter. Dont use a fram.

You know that mobil pays Gm for that distinction right? Ferrari also recommends quaker state . Use M1 if you want. Everyone in the know knows it's garbage. Do a search of LS1tech
