Default y-pipe to mufflex question

if you have a 3" y-pipe that goes to a 4" mufflex exhaust, then there is basically no gain in flow with the 4" since the y-pipe still merges into 3", correct?

Try getting in touch with Mufflex. They incorporated a 3" ypipe of their own merging to a 4".
Your question, yes, it should merged into a bigger piping.

yea i know they make it to adapt to a 3" y pipe. my question is, is that pointless for better flow? it might as well just continue as 3" piping, correct?

well you have 2 3" pipe's merging into 1 single 3" pipe.. so 6" worth of flow.. do the math.. not sure if there is anything to be gained by it.. but i had a mufflex 4" and i loved the sound and lost no power w/ it..

Mufflex built my exhaust, the Y-pipe is 3" in, 4"out into the 4" intermidiate. It's not 3in/3out then adapts to the 4". Which is what I think your asking?
