Default STUCK In 4th...

I finished my LS2 swap and go back to fix a leaky front cover seal...

I had already driven the car around after getting the motor in, and now put the car in 4TH gear so I can get the crank bolt off.

After prying on the bolt trying to remove from crank the trans is stuck in 4th gear, the funny thing i wasnt even driving it. Occasionally it would pop out of 3rd when driving, but for the life of me i cannot get it out of 4th.

So looks like it is time for a rebuild? But i dont see how this happened simply from using 4th gear to try to remove the crank bolt. Also who is everyone using for rebuilds, because im still on the fence about doing it myself

Might have wedged a Key or something..will the vehicle move in 4th without a problem?

You probably broke or bent the shift keys in the 3-4 slider . Its a very common issue and will have to be torn down to fix the issue . In most cases , you can force it to come out of 4th gear but its not always easy .

Yes i havent moved it too much, but I have definately lost that lock effect of the car being in gear, and it would allow the motor to spin freely when cranking it over trying to remove the bolt.

Yea, sounds like the 3-4 Keys could be wedged preventing the Slider from moving..I could be wrong, but just a guess..
