Default Need to remove slave cyl spring - help

I am in the middle of mating an LS3 with LS7 clutch/pressure plate/flywheel to a 1998 F-body T56. I got some measurements from the top of the slave to the tranny and the bellhousing to the pressure plate fingers, but I think one of them is inaccurate. I need to remove the slave cylinder spring to get a good measurement from the top of the slave (bottomed out) to the tranny to see if I need to shim it, and I can't get the spring off. Can anyone help? For reference, it is a new 2002 type slave from GM.

Twist the bearing/spring assembly around until it stops, then pry up on it with a screw driver, that should pop it off.
